Christy Myrick, PhD, RBP
Christy Myrick serves as the lead auditor for the U.S. National Authority for Containment of Poliovirus at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). She is working with laboratories, vaccine manufacturers, and other facilities that will continue to perform essential work with poliovirus post eradication and those with sample collections potentially infectious for poliovirus. Christy has previously served as a biosafety manager for CDC laboratories and as a senior inspector for the CDC’s Division of Select Agents and Toxins. She earned her PhD from the University of Florida working on the inheritance of complex immunological traits primarily using a murine model of type 1 diabetes, and performed post-doctoral work at the Emory Vaccine Center characterizing HIV-specific CD8 T cells.
