Genevieve Lacroix, Manager, Laboratory Biosecurity, Centre for Biosecurity, Public Health Agency of Canada holds a BSc in Microbiology and Immunology and a Master in Molecular Biology from McGill University. She began working for the Canadian federal government in 2006 as a laboratory technician. She joined the Public Health Agency of Canada’s Centre for Biosecurity in 2008, working in several roles, including importation, containment level 2 inspections, high biocontainment inspection, compliance and enforcement, risk assessment and policies. She is the manager of the laboratory biosecurity program, where her main responsibility is the promotion and verification of biosecurity risk assessment and biosecurity plan, as well as managing the Human Pathogens and Toxins Act security clearance process.
